It was my first French film, and for a long time, I would tell anyone who asked that it was my favorite film. How does it hold up? Not bad. It's still beautiful. It's one of those movies where certain brief images are the most lasting in your memory. It meanders more than I remember, though. It didn't seem to be so long before. And as nice as it is just to look at, it's not a good idea to get up and make yourself a baguette, or you might not know what's happening.
