While falling asleep to Martha Stewart on the Food Network the other night, I caught a commercial, starring someone named Wai Lana. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen on there. She was dressed in a day-glo orange and purple tracksuit and was doing her yoga thing in full geisha makeup. The most noteable thing was, however, the location. It was shot on this island. I can almost guarantee, in fact, that it was partially shot at the YWCA where my daughter takes swimming lessons. Oddly enough, there is a very popular restaurant on Ala Moana Boulevard, right across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, called the Wailana Coffee House. I've eaten there, in fact. I think her real name must be Beth Tanaka.

Comments Wai Lana Yoga! Down To Earth on S. King has been selling all of her tapes and yoga equipment (including the "Health Ball") since the beginning of time - but it wasn't until I saw her entire Yoga Starter Kit selling at ROSS for $25 (!) that I realized how insanely popular she's gotten...
